Archive for the ‘Voter ID’ Category

This is all disturbing. And pervasive. Note the presence of ACORN founder Wade Rathe in Battleground Texax, shown here in encouraging voter fraud to help Democrat Wendy Davis in her gubernatorial bid. Rathe says they’re teaching the Enroll America group to watch out for the “Keefers” and how to avoid them. Um, Wade, that isn’t the real problem here, is it? Voter fraud itself is the problem, not preventing James O’Keefe from taping it.

BTW, I often have to show Voter ID at my neighborhood polling precinct, even though we’ve owned this house for many years, regularly vote and even sometimes casually know a poll worker or two. I’m happy to comply.

Oh for heaven’s sake. Nobody gutted the Voting Rights Act. An outdated and clumsy section that required certain states to seek DOJ approval on the slightest change in voting that was needed in 1965 is no longer needed. How strict was this section? If you moved the polling place 20 feet, some states had to get approval. When Kinston, NC wanted to make the town elections nonpartisan, they had to seek DOJ approval. It was denied, with the DOJ Civil Rights Unit saying residents of Kinston might not know who to vote for in a city council election without knowing who was Democrat or Republican. Um, Kinston has a majority black population and virtually all the town officials are black. These black officials unanimously wanted the change from partisan to nonpartisan city elections. Was the Holder DOJ looking out for Kinston or the Dems?

J Christian Adams, who used to work in the DOJ Civil Rights Unit, talks facts and knowledge without the hysteria. http://pjmedia.com/jchristianadams/2013/06/25/supreme-court-buries-section-5-of-voting-rights-act/

That liberal NPR chick on Bret Baier Special Report tonight blamed Boosh and the GOP for reauthorizing the Act in 2006 without modernizing and adjusting it. Are you kidding me? Take a look at some tweets from Dems, liberal MSM, and black leaders following the SCOTUS rule that Section 5 was no longer needed for those states. I remember when the VRA was passed; LBJ and Hubert Humphrey would be in shock that they created a permanent bureaucracy.

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/ken-shepherd/2013/06/25/hyperbole-much-cbs-legal-analyst-compares-voting-rights-act-ruling-dre  Yeh, it’s the Dred Scott decision all over again, blacks are 3/5 of a person, a ruling also mischaracterized by libs. This guy had multiple falsehoods and he’s a CBS legal analyst.

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/scott-whitlock/2013/06/25/hyperbolic-terry-moran-abc-right-now-there-no-voting-rights-act-oper No wonder they call him Terry Moron.

President Obama is “deeply disappointed.” What a hack. A Minnesota rep calls Justice Clarence Thomas “Uncle Tom” and then deletes the tweet, saying he didn’t know that was bad. http://michellemalkin.com/2013/06/25/wisconsin-rep-give-me-a-break-i-didnt-know-uncle-tom-is-a-racially-denigrating-term/

The Voting Rights Act is a huge success for American democracy, a piece of legislation that worked.  One section of it is no longer needed. Why can’t we celebrate that as a step forward for America?

I linked a couple of days ago to the story of the United Nations monitoring elections in certain locations with an eye to “voter suppression from conservative groups”. Since the NAACP is one of the source asking the UN to monitor US elections, you won’t be shocked to discover those certain locations are in the south. A representative in Alabama is pretty peeved and is sponsoring a resolution that all poll watchers must be US citizens. Frankly, having the UN monitor US elections just frosts my Cocoa Puffs in a big way.

The UN monitoring elections and targeting conservatives is outrageous. Evidently the UN never heard of ACORN, but of course they favor Obama and liberals.

“The United States is the worldwide beacon of free elections and the Republican form of government, so having an international squad from the United Nations playing referee in our elections is insulting and absurd,” Hubbard said.  “We’ve been holding elections in the U.S. for the past 223 years without the United Nations playing a role or enforcing the rules, and we certainly don’t want or need them now.”

At the request of several liberal-leaning groups including the American Civil Liberties Union, the NAACP and the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, a United Nations affiliate, announced it will deploy a team of poll watchers to polling sites across the country in order to monitor and document potential disputes.

The poll watchers will come from Serbia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Germany and France, and other countries.  http://yellowhammerpolitics.com/blog/hubbard-moves-to-block-united-nations-poll-watchers-from-operating-in-alabama/
