When 2008 began, I was a long-time liberal Democrat. By the time November rolled around, I voted for John McCain. I still wish McCain had won. I’m convinced we wouldn’t be worried about an Iran nuclear bomb and our debt wouldn’t be of gasping proportions. What changed for me?

Early 2008 I supported Hillary but planned to support the eventual Democrat nominee. Obama supporters and his compliant media loudly and repeatedly proclaimed that I was racist for supporting Hillary. Sometimes they mocked me, sometimes they angrily denounced me and sometimes they calmly analyzed me but the result was the same: I lived in Appalachia/the South/Kentucky/Eastern Kentucky so I was racist for not supporting Obama, an unvetted, inexperienced, newly elected junior US Senator who had given a pretty speech and accomplished … nothing. Not only was I racist, I was a rube, some suggested I was so stupid it was a shame I could vote at all.

Did that upset me? Oh you’re damn straight it did. I had naively assumed the MSM was more or less neutral  before then. I also assumed I was still a Democrat and we would kiss and make up after the election but the Dems didn’t give a rat’s ass about me. It’s funny but when you begin to think critically analyze the MSM, you’re shocked you never saw the liberal bias before. Once you see it, you can’t go back. The Dems, the MSM and Obama supporters never apologized, never attempted to heal the wound. As former DNC assistant deputy [Howard Dean was the head then] Donna Brazille said, ‘ this is the New Democratic Party and we don’t need white southern blue-collar  or senior voters because we’re going to win with the new coalition of minorities, younger, urban liberal voters.’ And they did. No reason to apologize or miss me. Piss off then, Democratic Party. I will never be a Democrat again.

Now they said I’m sexist because I wouldn’t vote for Hillary Clinton if she were the last woman on earth. It’s clear that identity politics is simply a means to shame voters into supporting someone with the relevant characteristics of the day.

As for 2016, I’m not a Trump fan but I’ll vote for him any day over any of the Democrats. Hillary should be in jail, Sanders should be in Venezuela, Gore should be in a psychiatric unit, and Biden should be in a medical facility that checks on the shifting metal plate in his noggin, male nurses only please.

Why is Trump so popular? He seems like a winner and lots of conservative and moderate Republicans are desperate for that. The Bushes, including W, really aren’t conservatives so that base is desperate. I’m not sure that will end well, Trump is no conservative. But Trump is also popular because unlike the Democrats, he doesn’t deign the South or whites or blue-collar workers or the less affluent or the less-educated. The MSM loves to say that the more affluent and educated support Obama, thus guaranteeing that that group loves to support Obama. It’s salesmanship: driving this car means you’re sexy, wearing this clothing means you’re affluent, drinking this wine means you’re young, dining here means you’re smart and supporting Obama means all that added together. Some fell for it.

Us racist, sexist, dumb rubes? We’re still voting and we’re mad as hell.

I wasn’t sure anyone scorned these ads as much as I do. Good grief, when that whiny girl talks about her car she named “Brad” I just about upchuck. Most of us who are adults understand that you get what you pay for when it comes to insurance or most anything else. Want full car replacement after a wreck? You can have that but you don’t get it by buying cheap basic auto insurance, you pay a bit more for it. If you don’t want to pay extra for it, then don’t whine if you have a wreck with your cheap basic auto insurance footing the bill.

You have no “right” to Cadillac insurance when you purchase a Chevy Cavalier plan.

Here’s one of the ads; be sure to follow the link to Michelle’s Mirror to read the commentary for the ads. Funny and on the mark

Naïve people with a simplistic view labelling groups of real people in a real world. Or perhaps they’re not so much naïve but looking to grasp power through synthetic outrage. The problem with a purge is that it tends to spiral out of control, ending who knows where while taking numerous victims.
