Might as well say it. Greenies want to stop reliable energy production, and with it manufacturing, in the United States but we have a higher standard of living than most of the world. Celebrity greenies like Barbra, Leo, George, the Kerrys and others have a very high standard of living. What about the poorer nations? Why do enviros fight a coal-fired plant in poorest Africa? Why do they fight genetically modified food that’s specifically made to grow in poor soil or droughts and has a higher protein content for hungry kids? There’s not a smidgen of credible evidence that GMO foods are harmful to health. In fact, former Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore admits the Big Green corporation made up the scare to raise money during a slow time, never suspecting it would become a cornerstone of the eco-movement.
Obama has forbidden US foreign aid $$ to be used on coal-fired power plants, hurting poor countries, especially Africa. http://in.reuters.com/article/2013/06/27/usa-climate-world-bank-coal-plants-idINDEE95Q00E20130627 World Bank plans to limit financing of coal-fired power plants.
Al Gore has kids – what is 3 or 4 kids – but he’s telling Africans to have fewer children. Don’t you wish liberals would stay out of our bedrooms? What gives Gore the right to tell people how many, if any, kids people should have? http://www.climatedepot.com/2014/01/27/gore-fertility-management-is-needed-in-africa-to-help-control-the-proliferation-of-unusual-weather/
John Kerry is even worse, he doesn’t want Africans to expand farms or develop new farms to feed their kids because…..AGW. http://dailycaller.com/2014/08/06/top-5-moments-from-the-africa-summit-video/ President Obama attended the same conference where he showed his intellectual prowess by his usual bad-mouthing Republicans, which was not only bizarre, not only useless, but also hypocritical because the best friend the African continent had was President George W Bush. Obama, OTOH, cut aid to Africa as soon as he came into office.
Why worry about carbon? It’s a good thing, especially to poor countries which have problems growing enough food. http://www.nationalreview.com/energy-weekThe Carbon-Benefit Deniers
Does anyone seriously think starving people care about GMO? That’s a First World Problem. Even if it turns out – by real time experience and real science not repeated myths from a bunch of privileged white liberals – that there are problems, the plant can continue to be modified to healthier results. You’d let a kid die from starvation before you’d let him eat genetically modified food? What kind of snob are you, anyway? http://www.the-american-interest.com/blog/2014/07/21/anti-gmo-activists-are-harming-hungry-Africans/
African crop yields lag well behind those of the world’s developed countries, and the continent’s food security is shaky at best. Starvation is an ever-present threat for many, and the impending effects of climate change loom ominously in the distance. But scientists have solutions, genetically modified crops that are resistant to droughts, pests, and disease, that, pending government approval, are ready for planting. Dismayingly, Luddite anti-GMO campaigners have smeared these potential problem-solvers as unsafe and unnatural, and as a result, to-date no African government has approved the use of GM crops.
Oh, dear. That smugness isn’t often based on fact but on the need to feel smug. As Kate at Small Dead Animals says, “Drama Queen Studies.” http://www.smithsonianmag.com/science/sorry-hipsters-organic-kale-genetically-modified-food-180952656/?no-ist and http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2014/10/06/this-unhinged-womans-tearful-rant-will-change-your-mind-about-food-forever-or-something/. Guess calling someone a specieist is an insult but this radical vegan sounds like a nut and I don’t mean macadamia. There’s a video of her screaming at stunned diners if you can bear to watch meltdowns from weird women.
Big Green: Making white liberals feel better about themselves since 1970 [I know, I was a greenie for many years. After a while, the lies became larger than the good feelings]. Just don’t forget, they’re more compassionate. Don’t worry about forgetting, they constantly tell us that
