This isn’t a roundup of MSM malpractice but so much as a highlight of recent egregious practices. since these aren’t true errors, they’re errors of liberal bias. They’re sorry they got called out for them.
Maybe Wal-Mart is tired of being a political punching bag for liberal pop culture. If you don’t like their stores, don’t go. This is still a little bit America despite Obama’s radical transformation to European socialist-lite. The NYT post was tiresome strident liberal talking points. The Wal-Mart response was snarky and factual. Win goes to small town Big Box. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-blumer/2014/06/23/wal-mart-blog-posts-spirited-devastating-fact-check-response-timothy-ega
This was a horrible story that I foolishly repeated to a few people as fact. What was I thinking? This was the Associated Press. That was all the red flag I needed to sniff around. The 800+ bodies of babies at an Irish convent order, Bon Secours? A total lie. Even the AP has apologized. For every single detail. http://washingtonexaminer.com/thanks-to-the-associated-press-we-now-have-the-frontrunner-for-most-embarrassing-correction-of-the-year/article/2550042 Here in Eastern Kentucky, the Catholics are a distinct minority but for more than a half-century they have established much-needed little hospitals, often in little mountain towns. They’ve overcome the initial distrust of the mostly-Baptist communities and earned places of respect. My dad’s recent hospitalization was in a Bon Secours institution and they deserve a heck of a lot better treatment from a media always ready to believe the worst about Christianity. You know, the MSM are so much better than lowly bloggers; hey, they’re professionals. Like prostitutes.
Based upon the liberal fear of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, I’m beginning to think he should be the frontrunner GOP presidential candidate. He’s quiet but he’s fought off all the liberal craziness against him. Can he do it with John Doe? Two judges have said there’s nothing there but the liberal media are wild attack dogs. They have to find something that will stick. Meanwhile, he’s done a heckuva job for the state. Oh, does that matter? Nice roundup here: http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2014/06/the-latest-scott-walker-smear-debunked.php . Another excellent source is William Jacobson, who keeps running posts with each new development, including Walker’s response: http://legalinsurrection.com/2014/06/scott-walker-i-will-not-back-down//#more
You know what the Walker story reminds me of? Former Kentucky governor Ernie Fletcher, the first Republican governor in 30+ years, a Baptist preacher and MD [an orthopedic surgeon as I recall], who was constantly bedeviled by the liberal KY media and Democratic-controlled capitol of Frankfort. Everyday a new rumor or innuendo. He was defeated for re-election by Obama supporter DemocratSteve Beshear, who’s had Teflon from the media here. Any allegations or investigations against Fletcher himself disappeared the day he lost, although there was a charge against someone in his administration. It’s almost as if the media didn’t need to persecute Ernie Fletcher anymore. Meanwhile accusations of forced donations from state workers to Beshear’s re-relection and sexual harassment charges by a longtime Dem legislator were hushed up with the [Democratic] victims told to be quiet so they wouldn’t hurt Beshear and the state Democratic Party? Down the rabbit hole.
