Shut up the Kraut? A very dumb move. http://www.jammiewf.com/2014/climate-clowns-try-to-silence-krauthammer/
What to do when the wind is not blowing? The answer was: have a gas plant ready as back-up. In other words, replace carbon-free nuclear power with a dual system, renewables plus gas. With this approach CO2 emissions will increase and it is certain that fracking will continue and expand into larger regions
Hey, it doesn’t hurt animals when animals are killed or decapitated by renewable energy. The animals don’t mind this shared sacrifice for global warming, they only hate oil spills or water from coal mines or fracking. I’m quite sure this is true, I’m attuned to the animals cosmic energy. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/02/20/solar-energy-plants-in-tortoises-desert-habitat-pit-green-against-green/
Like Obama said, we don’t want the US to be left behind in the race for renewable energy. Has he noticed they’re running the other way? http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-London/2014/02/21/Fifth-Mega-Windfarm-Project-in-Three-Months-Blown-Away
Thinking tofu can save the planet and your life? Not so fast. http://chriskresser.com/why-you-should-think-twice-about-vegetarian-and-vegan-diets
More of the ‘Shut Up, They Explained’ agenda of Obama, the Dems and Big Green. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/pj-gladnick/2014/02/23/cnn-declares-no-two-sides-climate-change-debate Funny thing but Albert Einstein welcomed debate and criticism of his math, theories and science. Of course, AGW is political science and Einstein was hard science.
We know stuff doesn’t decompose in modern high-compression landfills – whether the material is biodegradable or not – and here’s a way to use the plastic bags, which are cleaner and harbor fewer germs than cloth/reusable bags. Sure you can wash the reusable bags after each use with hot water and bleach but where’s the environmental savings? http://wattsupwiththat.com/2014/02/12/those-much-maligned-plastic-grocery-bags-can-run-your-diesel-truck-or-car/
I’m no lawyer so I have no idea whether this is the best legal decision but I know this is the worst possible decision. In a California high school with a large “Mexican” – that’s how they’re referred in the lawsuit – student contingent, there have been repeated threats of violence during the Cinco de Mayo school observations. No, the threats weren’t from Caucasian “American” students but from the Mexicans and from their gangs. Thus the 9th Federal Court ruled that the First Amendment rights of the Caucasians students to wear T-shirts displaying the American Stars and Stripes is overridden by the school to prevent violence. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2014/02/27/not-safe-to-display-american-flag-in-american-high-school/ and http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2014/02/9th-circuit-holds-that-school-can-ban-display-of-american-flag.php.
I suspect I share the views of most Americans:
1. Why doesn’t the school cancel Cinco de Mayo observations? It’s no Mexican holiday, it’s a date of a quite minor military victory and is pretty much an excuse for Americans to drink and party. It has nothing to do with education and there are other opportunities for serious study of Mexican culture.
2. If the Mexican students threatened violence, why didn’t the school discipline them, no matter how many students were involved? How can you have any kind of learning in this environment? This is a public school, supported by taxpayer dollars.
3. Congratulations, Mr Principal, you have just rewarded threats, intimidation, and racism. You should have rewarded the free speech of the American flag wearers. You can never appease bullies enough.
4. How many of these students are illegal immigrants or the children of illegals? So far this fits the pattern that’s happening in other Western cultures where large numbers of immigrants – often illegals – avail themselves of all benefits freely given by their host nation but the immigrants feel no loyalty or gratitude and don’t assimilate.
5. There should never be a time when a student in a public school in America cannot wear a T-shirt displaying the American flag.
As John Hinderaker states in the PowerLine article:
My takeaway from all of this is that our civilization is in a state of deep decline, from which it probably cannot recover.

Here’s what I can tell you about retirement: It requires more money than you can imagine. Even a low inflationary rate of 1.5% eats up your money, a slowdown or recession kills your investments, the medical costs are staggering, and there’s always the unexpected.
10,000 baby boomers shall retire today, tomorrow and every day for the next 16 years. The greatest demographic tidal wave in the history of the United States has caught America totally unprepared. Tens of trillions of dollars in entitlements these boomers thought shall be there for them won’t be. When you combine this retirement crisis with all the other economic woes the future is not bright no matter how many “Talking Heads” tell you otherwise on CNBC-TV.
and a h/t to http://smalldeadanimals.com/ for this Michael Tanner at Prager University video:
Hard to believe I used to consider myself a feminist, I subscribed to several periodicals and belonged to organizations. It was supposed to be about choice, about letting women discover who they were and what they wanted to do. Now feminists tell you what you need to do. Have to be pro abortion and radically so. You don’t want to stay home with kids and be a homemaker, probably don’t want kids or even marry. Casual sex, lesbian casual sex is best. Need to have contempt for men. You can say or do anything you want, if anyone questions the likes of your ‘vagina yarn floss art’ they are knuckle-dragging Neanderthal sexists. Feminists have total freedom but can censor anyone who doesn’t fit their definition of feminist. You proudly call yourself a slut but smack down any man who says it. Count me out. Forty years ago no one could convince me that the warnings of conservative women who fought the feminist agenda would prove correct.
The Obama administration is clueless, totally clueless, when it comes to creating jobs so they’re trying to create a change of attitude with job-seekers. Hey, who wants to work full-time? Who wants more money and benefits anyway? Stay home more and play video games or write poetry or enjoy your hobby.
I find this very amusing because during a Barbara Walters interview back in the 60’s or early 70’s John Wayne created a firestorm of feminist backlash by suggesting hey, it would be pretty nice to be his wife and get to indulge in hobbies and going to lunch after shopping while he – the husband – does the hard work of making money. Wayne said he though he’d like to try it himself. Feminists were furious but what’s the difference between what Wayne and Obama said? Actually Wayne’s is better because he loved the wife and wanted to make life easier for her. Obama is just a job-creating failure who wants you to live off the taxpayer money of strangers who don’t want to pay you for sitting on the sofa.
Here a parody of “9 to 5,” pretty funny. h/t http://www.powerlineblog.com
Everyday I see the destructive effects of declining coal. While some of this may be from the increased use of cheap natural gas, the Obama EPA has had a major role here in development, mining and usage of coal. Our only tiny glimmer of light has been exporting coal to other countries; now Obama wants to end that.
Please keep in mind we are killing a major source of cheap reliable energy because of 1] an unproven theory the earth is warming and that’s due to something human beings do, not natural cycles 2] an unproven theory that coal causes asthma, which the NIH won’t state but Medical Researcher-in-Chief Obama does 3] an unproven theory that increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is destructive to life, even though we’ve survived higher levels before 4] capital venture companies that want to make money by alternative energy, which can only be accomplished by destroying our old energy methods 5] years of Earth Day propaganda that feeds our children nonsense of unproven/disproven scare tactics, including fossil fuels, that are seamlessly replaced by new scare tactics 6] a liberal base that needs to be inspired and appeased on a continuing basis, and forty years of environmentalism is an easy talking point and 7] liberal politicians who want a political sea change in Appalachia/South and 8] eco-purists who want to return large parts of our nation – especially the Appalachians – to a “no fooftprint” condition 9] a plethora of Big Green community organizing groups, including Kentuckians For The Commonwealth [KFTC], who use the environment issue as a conduit to install a specific agenda, e.g., felon voting 10] Agenda 21 adherents who believe one-world government, a la the United Nations, is the answer to a better world; Agenda 21 moves rural folks to planned cities and designates energy/forests to government control. 11] smug opponents who don’t need coal in their geographic areas – think California – and either don’t care how their views devastate Appalachia or consider it political payback for our wrong-thinking voting.
Do you think it’s a coincidence that socialist, one-world government multibillionaire George Soros and uber liberal groups like The Tides Foundation are shelling out many millions to Big Green groups, Big Green media groups [e.g. Center for American Progress] and groups that train Big Green leaders [e.g. Rockwood Institute and Moveon]? Do you think it’s a coincidence that Saudi Arabia and Warren Buffet, who partly owns the railroad used in the North Dakota Bakken Fields but doesn’t own part of the Canada Tar Sands/Keystone XL pipeline venture, have given money to defeat the Keystone XL pipeline?
If the EPA won’t allow companies to mine or mine in the US using fossil fuels, why should we allow imports that have been manufactured in coal-fired plants? If the clothes I wear come from Malaysia and were made using coal as an energy source, we should ban it. If the computer I use comes from China and was made using coal as an energy source or uses batteries/heavy metal components mined in a manner that doesn’t meet our EPA standards here, we should ban it. A level playing field for US companies and workers only seems fair.
Much bigger money. http://dailycaller.com/2014/02/10/center-for-american-progress-first-solar-green-relationship/ and http://dailycaller.com/2014/02/02/center-for-american-progress-or-corporate-donors-progress/ Here’s a tip, Kentucky, you can’t trust Bill Clinton and his support of Allison Lundergan Grimes, he’s making way too much money with the Clinton Initiative.
Most of us in Eastern Kentucky and the rest of Appalachia are in shock. We’ve listened to idiots like Daryl Hannah and RFK Jr’s California-based enviro groups come and protest, filling the media with “facts” we haven’t had the time or money or opportunity to investigate – the EPA, the NIH, and government-funded college research grants are only interested in studies that support Big Green – and we can’t believe the rest of our nation is doing this to us. Here a small Tea Party group makes an attempt to comprehend. http://www.nkyteaparty.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2320:let-s-rid-kentucky-of-agenda-21-and-save-private-property-rights&catid=8&Itemid=120

We don’t want your damn welfare and stupid job-training programs, President Obama and your silly base, we want jobs. We want to keep our people here. We want our own money.
