Got ouzo?

http://www.stgeorgehwv.org/festival/  I went to the Greek Festival at St. George in Huntington, WV today [Saturday] and had a very good time. Lots – and lots – of good food, dancing, friendly people, and a chance to look inside the church and learn some history while touring.

I got hooked on Greek food – vegetarian for me, regular for the hub – at Chris’ Gyros at Kyova Mall. What great food that was, and at a mall too! I still mourn the loss of Chris’, plus they were nice folks so I miss them too.

I took an excellent video of the Greek dancers, but evidently it’s too big a file to send to my email so I’m left with a makeshift picture. I happened to snap. The festival ends Sunday but they will have dancing and food before it’s all over for another year. Directions, menus and dance schedules are at the link above.

FUN FOR INFIDELS OF ALL AGES: It’s the Obama Word-Search Game!

Send this word-search game to children and Democrats — but I repeat myself — as a reminder of President SCOAMF’s many achievements over the last four years.

Yes the NYC subway is banning those ads in the video and cracking down on other ‘offensive’ poster ads that might ‘provoke violence.’ That’s a low standard for a ban and suspiciously  subjective,

So this self-described ‘Egyptian liberal-Muslim activist’ vandalized pre-approved and pre-paid ads because she found them offensive. Failing to understand both irony and the American principle of free speech, she’s actually proud of her vandalism.

Where are the hate words in that ad? How does that ad hurt anyone? If you don’t agree that’s fine but where is the hate that ’causes’ violence? The NYC MTA says it can ban any ad that could create violence or disturbance? Um, isn’t that rewarding vandalism and bad behavior? So one woman can override a previous ad approval? A one-person vandal, that’s all it takes to squelch free speech in NYC? Does Middle America need to break the laws or riot or whatever to be taken seriously?

The real question is: Why are Democrats/MSM so intent on giving Muslims a protected victim status even though there’s been virtually no hate/violence against them in our country, even after 9/11? Is creating a coalition of victims the only way Democrats can  big elections?

It’s not that long ago the MSM mocked the websites Creeping Sharia and Jihad Watch as ludicrous far-fetched hate speech but their warnings are becoming reality in our nation.

The story of William

A woman in a supermarket is following a grandfather and his badly behaved 3-year-old grandson. It’s obvious to her that he has his hands full with the child screaming for sweets in the sweet aisle, biscuits in the biscuit aisle, and for fruit, cereal and pop in the other aisles. Meanwhile, Granddad is working his way around, saying in a controlled voice, “Easy, William, we won’t be long, easy, boy.” Another outburst, and she hears the granddad calmly say, “It’s okay, William, just a couple more minutes and we’ll be out of here. Hang in there, boy.” At the checkout, the little terror is throwing items out of the cart, and Granddad says again in a controlled voice, “William, William, relax buddy, don’t get upset. We’ll be home in five minutes, stay cool, William.”

Very impressed, the woman goes outside where the grandfather is loading his groceries and the boy into the car. She says to the elderly gentleman, “It’s none of my business, but you were amazing in there. I don’t know how you did it. That whole time, you kept your composure, and no matter how loud and disruptive he got, you just calmly kept saying things would be okay. William is very lucky to have you as his grandpa.”

“Thanks,” says the grandfather, “but I’m William… the little shit’s name is Kevin.”
